Mentor for Lotus Notes

Mentor™ for Lotus Notes is a fundamentally different way of mastering Notes. Because Notes is rich in function and offers so many options, mastering it takes time. Few companies can send everyone to a comprehensive class, and while CBT courses are effective, people need reminders and support as they use Notes, especially for the functions they don't commonly use.

Mentor gives users small units of highly effective multimedia instruction, and direct access to multimedia tutorials. It covers Notes "from soup to nuts," including Mail, Calendar, Scheduling, Documents, Databases, Replication, Set Up, and Web—over 270 topics. Everything an end user needs to become a Notes "power user," with minimal effort, is instantly available at the desktop.

Mentor assumes you're busy at work and need help to accomplish a task. By clicking a SmartIcon or a bookmark, you tell Mentor what you want to know. It responds with multimedia power to help you as an expert colleague would—by showing and telling you how to get your task done, or how things work. Just as you'd select a Text Help item, you select a short multimedia help item that is far more powerful and memorable than a screen of text. Mentor delivers what you need to keep working.

Since Mentor training materials are accessed through a Notes database, they can reside anywhere in your network or on workstation hard drives, and they can be replicated.

By taking advantage of superior compression techniques, Mentor tutorials can be streamed in real time over connections as low as 28.8 Kbps, without downloading. The entire Mentor—nearly six hours of instruction—takes less than 35 MB of disk space. Your company can use Mentor separately or in conjunction with classroom instruction.
