VSI Communications Group Expands into Browser and e-Business Markets with Online Multimedia Performance Support Systems.

Companies Can Now Greet Internet Visitors and Guide Them Through Complex e-Business or e-Commerce Environments.

Norwalk, CT, June 10, 1999—VSI Communications Group has extended its Mentor™ brand of just-in-time learning systems into the browser and e-Commerce market with Mentorfor Netscape Navigator, which was released this week, and Mentorfor Internet Explorer, which follows in July.

"Our leaning technology has proved itself first in the groupware market," said VSI's CEO Dan Gallo. "We expect a similar expansion into the e-business market where there is nothing of this type of instant training available to help corporations train their own employees or to assist Internet visitors they may never see or hear from again."

The Mentor learning system was originally developed to support LAN and mobile users of Lotus Notes®, and with over 625,000 seats of Mentor Lotus Notes sold, VSI has quickly become the largest third party provider of Notes products.

"The browser market was the natural next step for instantly available, multimedia support," said Gallo. The new browser products for Netscape and Internet Explorer embed into the browsers' toolbars, where users can click to play short sight-and-sound demos on over 60 topics, and see by example how to work with everything from Mail, Web searches and graphics, to downloads and plugins. Even operations such as syncing for PalmPilots or enabling Java are spotlighted in Mentor's list of over 125 entries.

Just as VSI has developed custom Mentors for custom groupware applications, custom Mentors can be developed for any e-business environment. "This online help means communities of users can quickly become familiar with a site and companies can develop the richer site content and deeper navigation strategies they need for conducting business with multiple audiences in advanced electronic environments." explained Gallo. Mentors can be created for any kind of e-commerce application.
