Mentor for Lotus Sametime 3 Released
Latest Version of the Popular End User Deployment Solution Now with New "Best Practices" Content
Norwalk, CT, November 6, 2002
Mentor Media Group has released a new version of its highly successful Mentor for Lotus Sametime. This Mentor makes users successful with Lotus Sametime 3 without trainingusing short, just-in-time, sight and sound multimedia presentations and demonstrations. And with the new Best Practices for Sametime module, users can get the most out of this powerful Lotus collaboration tool, while avoiding mistakes that cause poor performance and otherwise undermine collaborative working.
Mentor for Lotus Sametime 3 is the third Mentor for Sametime, expanding and enhancing the previous Mentor for Lotus Sametime 2.5. "We've covered all the new features, improved our material on the returning features, and added new indexing and search facilities," says Dave Swenson, Operations Director for Mentor Media Group. "This Mentor is really great."
"I just heard about a company beginning a Sametime rollout to 50,000 people and offering them a three-hour classroom training session," says Dan Gallo, CEO of Mentor Media Group. "That'll cost them half a day per person, plus the instructor, travel, and facilities$10 million if only two-thirds take the course. Mentor for Sametime would cover every employee for less than 3% of that. And when people get back to work after the training, they'll still have trouble and call the Help Desk at $30-40 a call. Mentor can stop 25-40% of those calls."
A Mentor gives people the three things they need to master new software: Communication, Learning, and Support. First, Mentor lets them know what's coming, how it will help them, the big picture of how it works, and an overview of its functions. Next, it gives them what they need to get started. Then, as they apply the new software in their work, Mentor is always there to help them, when they get stuck or need to do a new task or one they've forgotten. They don't have to leave their desks, stop what they're doing, interrupt someone else, or call a Help Desk. All this adds up to a shorter rollout, more productive employees, and a faster, bigger return on the company's Sametime investment.
You reach Mentor for Lotus Sametime with one click from Sametime or a browser, tell it what you want to know, then view the talking presentation or demonstration. You can even toggle between Mentor and Sametime, so Mentor can lead you through the task in real time. No longer do you need to remember the details of Sametime's tasks. Mentor remembers them for you.
