Mentor for Lotus QuickPlace 3 Announced
Latest Version of the Popular End User Deployment Solution
Norwalk, CT, January 15, 2002 Mentor Media, Inc. has announced the newest version of its highly successful product, Mentor for Lotus QuickPlace to be available at Lotusphere, January 25, 2003. This Mentor will make users successful with QuickPlace 3 without trainingusing short, just-in-time, sight and sound multimedia presentations and demonstrations.
"Most companies won't give their users training on QuickPlace," says Dan Gallo, CEO of Mentor Media, "so without Mentor, people simply won't appreciate its capabilities or use it properly. This means the company won't get the best return on its QuickPlace investment. And people with no learning will make Help Desk calls. They cost about $45 each, and we typically eliminate 25-40% of them, so this Mentor pays for itself in the first 30 days and delivers over 1,000% ROI the first year."
Mentor for Lotus QuickPlace 3 is the third Mentor for QuickPlace, expanding and enhancing the previous Mentor for Lotus QuickPlace 2.0. "This Mentor is three and a half times the size of its predecessor," says Dave Swenson, Operations Director for Mentor Media, "covering all the new features, expanding our material on the returning features, and adding new indexing and search facilities. Users will really appreciate this product."
A Mentor gives people the three things they need to master new software: Communication, Learning, and Support. First, Mentor lets them know what's coming, how it will help them, the big picture of how it works, and an overview of its functions. Next, it gives them what they need to get started. Then, as they apply the new software in their work, Mentor is always there to help them, when they get stuck or need to do a new task or one they've forgotten. They don't have to leave their desks, stop what they're doing, interrupt someone else, or call a Help Desk. All this adds up to a shorter rollout, more productive employees, and a faster, bigger return on the company's QuickPlace investment.
You reach Mentor for Lotus QuickPlace with one click from QuickPlace or a browser, tell it what you want to know, then view the talking presentation or demonstration. You can even toggle between Mentor and QuickPlace, so Mentor can lead you through the task in real time. No longer do you need to remember the details of QuickPlace's tasks. Mentor remembers them for you.
"It's entirely flexible," says Gallo. "It can reside on a LAN or Internet server or on a user's hard drive. Server installation takes less than an hour; then you're ready to go. It can reside in a Notes database or a simple HTML container, so it introduces no new software to be administered or maintained."
