Sunrise, FL May 14th, 2004 - Learn.com, Inc., the world’s largest provider of Learning Management Systems, Retail Computer Based Training Products, eAgent technology and Course Authoring Tools announced today it has purchased all the assets of Mentor Media Group, Inc. (www.trymentor.com). Based in Norwalk, Connecticut, Mentor Media Group is an innovator and Industry leader in Employee Performance Support Systems (EPSS) or Human Performance Support Systems (HPSS) products and technology that help employees, customers, and supplier’s master software and e-business applications, without training.
With over seven million seat licenses sold, Mentor®, the acquired Company’s flagship product line, offers an extensive portfolio, including Mentors for IBM’s Lotus Notes, Domino Web Access (iNotes), Sametime with "Best Practices," and QuickPlace, in addition to Microsoft’s Windows and Office, 2000 and XP. Mentor also creates Custom EPSS for software products and customers’ e-business systems, Web forms, and Websites. Users learn by viewing brief, multimedia just-in-time presentations and demonstrations accessed by a single click right from the application toolbar or web browser giving users just what they need to know, when they need to know it. Users may also toggle between the Mentor and the subject software to be led through the task they want to perform. Mentor eliminates the need for the user to retain large amounts of task-centered knowledge.
“We are pleased to add Mentor to our award-winning mix of e-learning products, including the state-of-the art LearnCenter® Learning Management System (LMS), CourseMaker® Studio authoring tool, eAgent Technology, and extensive course catalogs,” said Jim Riley, President & CEO of Learn.com. “This Acquisition completely rounds out our offerings to our Clients. We believe tightly integrating EPSS into the current e-learning environment is the next generation, in Human Capital Support and Development. This is also the most pragmatic way to develop and offer automated help desk support. Mentor has been developing cutting edge Employee Performance Support Systems for over a decade. For example, they recently delivered an EPSS to AOL (America Online) the world’s largest ISP. Now AOL’s 35 million users can access ’Custom Show Me Mentors‘, immediately when they need the support most, on AOL 9.0 Optimized, allowing the users to quickly adopt and master new features. This acquisition is a great synergy because Mentor’s Employee Performance Support Systems have all been developed with Learn.com’s CourseMaker Studio Authoring Tool. There are no integration pains or issues for our company or our clients.
To coincide with the announcement of this new partnership, Learn.com has announced a new promotion which will provide an immediate benefit to Learn.com and Mentor clients (the combined company). All existing Mentor clients will be offered a 30% discount on all products in the Learn.com e-learning suite. Conversely, Learn.com clients are being offered a 30% discount on all Mentor products. This promotion will last until August 1st, 2004.
Mentor Media Group exists to help companies get more out of their investments in new technology, e-Business, and new business processes.
